President
As VP for Institutional Advancement at Trocaire College, John served as the Chief Advancement Officer, College Spokesperson and as a member of the President’s Cabinet. He oversaw “The Inspire Hope” Capital Campaign ($5.4 million), Donor and Alumni Relations, Marketing, Special Events, and Website Communications. Chaired the $1.7MM Title III Grant Project.
Additionally, John served as Relationship Manager for Catholic Charities, and Advisory Council Chair at The Buffalo & Erie County Naval Park. John conducted Feasibility and Development Assessment Studies for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northtowns, St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy, The Ronald McDonald House, Blessed Sacrament Church, and the Clarence Rotary.
John most recently served as Campaign Counsel for the Italian Cultural Center’s $2.5 million Adaptive Reuse Capital Campaign. Authored and oversaw the John R. Oishei Grant for $125,000, $150,000 in Erie County Cultural Grants, $100,000 City of Buffalo Grant, $500,000 NYS Dormitory Authority funding and $350,000 in NYS Historic Tax Credits. Hon. Anthony Masiello nominated his appointment to Executive Director. John retired in 2023 with the Emeritus honorarium.
Vice President, Client Relations
Carol served Nardin Academy in many Advancement Department capacities including: Director of the Annual (Nardin) Fund, Director of Alumni Affairs, Director of Planned Giving, and Major Gifts Officer. In these roles, she was successful in establishing new and enduring distinctive programs for the school, while generating significant annual and campaign growth. In addition, Carol increased endowment funds through the procurement of more than 20 endowed scholarships.
Carol served as Board Secretary, Gilda’s Club WNY, and is a past member of the Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus Board where she co-chaired the Advancement Committee. Carol was engaged by the Italian Cultural Center to participate in their highly successful Capital Campaign from its inception to completion. Currently she is a member of the Steering Committee for St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy Build Promise project, covering fundraising and planning for this new facility.
Vice President, Principal Grant Writer
Patrick provides significant senior and corner office experience and accomplishments to Vecchio & Associates. His portfolio of expertise includes organizations and institutions dedicated to health care, higher education, faith-based initiatives, community development and the arts.
Patrick’s experience blends gifted writing and superb interpersonal communications attributes whose positive range of outcomes include foundation and public sector proposal development, capital campaign management, institutional strategic planning, and effective, respectful relationships with individuals and families engaged with private philanthropy.
That experience has encompassed executive and consulting roles with such prominent Western New York institutions and organizations such as Niagara University, ECMC Lifeline Foundation, Health Systems Agency of WNY, Christ the King Seminary, the City of Buffalo, Buffalo General Hospital, and Trocaire College.
Vice President, Donor Cultivation
Joni has more than thirty-five years of fundraising experience, working with the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County, Holy Angels Academy, the Alzheimer’s Association and Trocaire College as Director of Alumni Relations and Special Events.
Prior to her vast experience in Major Gift Development, she spent more than sixteen years in marketing, communications and public relations with Cornell Aeronautical Laboratory / Calspan Corporation. That included on-site work experience at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio and Rockwell International in Los Angeles, California.
